ORIGIN: Native to Madagascar.
CLIMATE: Sub tropical. Growing best in full sun.
FORM: Also known as a Screw Pine. A hardy tropical plant with aerial (buttress) roots. Excellent feature plant and is multi branching with an architectural element. Leaves are long sword like and light green with a red spiny edge. Flowers are yellow with the female producing pineapple-like fruits.
MAINTENANCE: Low - Occaisional trimming of fronds.
Keep soil moist and adjust watering depending on the season.
Use a 6 month slow release fertilizer twice per year.
