SPECIES: Brachychiton rupestris (Qld Bottle Tree)
ORIGIN: Native to Queensland
CLIMATE: Warm but tolerant to a variety of climates. Full sun position.
FORM: It has a characteristic bottle shaped trunk which can reach 2m in diameter. The bottle shape becomes more distinctive with age. Makes a great ornamental feature to the garden. Leaves will drop before the flowering period. Flowers are small pinkish with yellow centre. Flowers in late spring.
Keep soil moist and adjust watering depending on the season.
Use a 6 month slow release fertilizer twice per year.
